Set-Backs and Feeling Unmotivated.

Hello all,

I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was pretty uneventful, but I'm not complaining. I decided that I was going to get started on redoing my cheapo desk:

I had already taken the drawers out, and I didn't feel like putting them back in for a picture. Sorry. So here's the back story on this desk:

It was found in the storage at my grandpa's business, where a lot of my family puts unwanted but functional furniture in case someone else can use it in the future. When I found it, it was white with pink roses on it. Pink? Roses? Bleh. But I needed a desk because I was moving into my very first apartment after living in the dorm a year. I decided I'd paint it. I had never painted furniture before, so instead of researching, I just grabbed some paint and went to work. No sanding, no primer, no sealer. Yep, it started chipping pretty early. I didn't even take the handles out of the drawers when I painted it!

So I decided it would be easy enough. I fixed one of the drawers that the back piece had broken off of, and planned on getting to work. This time, I was going to take out the hardware like a good upcycler. Well, um, I looked in the drawers to see if I could unscrew them, and discovered that they aren't screwed in. A hole is drilled in for the hardware, but I think they're glued in. I've tried everything I could think of and consulted Google, but I can't get the things out. Granted, I am no furniture master, so I'm sure there's a way. I intend to figure this thing out, but for now I'm frustrated with it and don't want to even look at it.

I'll get back to that later. Right now, I need to watch something mindless on Netflix and work on a sock.
